Welcome to the BMC Class of 1965

Greetings to all, lo these 50 years later, from Harriet (harrietss@gmail.com) and Martha (mbgoodloe1@aol.com)!

First and foremost, as co-presidents for the Class of 1965, we hope to see you at our 50th Reunion, May 29 to May 31, 2015. More details will follow, but please mark your calendars for this momentous occasion.

Your Class of 1965 Reunion Chairs, Jo Frodin (frojoski@yahoo.com) and Eleanor Midkiff (eleanormdkff@yahoo.com), will need both your ideas and your help. As always, we will have a “social room” in our assigned dormitory where we can all gather informally and reminisce. We will also have a time set aside Saturday morning for meeting as a class. What kinds of activities (or refreshments) would you like to have during these times? During all of Reunion week end (including marching with Reunion classes, accompanied by bagpipes, on what we hope will be a sunny and bright Sunday morning), how would you like us to identify ourselves as the Class of 1965 − red hats, red scarves, something else? And would you be able to serve on Eleanor and Jo’s committee, either before or during Reunion week end?

Reunion 2010 Parade PhotoKerry Mueller (uurevkerry@sbcglobal.net) has volunteered once again to prepare our Reunion Booklet and would also like your ideas and your help. What would you like included? What would you think of narratives combined with photographs then and now for each of us? Can you help Kerry put it all together? Can any of you provide financial support so that our booklet can be professionally bound, as a lasting memento of where we’ve been and all we’ve accomplished over the last five decades?

And then, of course, there’s our Reunion Gift. We have a committee of dedicated volunteers who will be working on making the Class of 1965’s gift to the College one of which we can be proud. Along with our Reunion Gift chair Maxine (Master) Long (mlong@shutts.com) , and Harriet Solomon and Martha Goodloe as your co-presidents, Eileen Bazelon, Eugenie Birch, Barbara Fraser, Marion Freedman-Gurspan, Marise Melson, Alice Powers and Carol Wolfe will be contacting you throughout the coming year to ask you to consider what you can give. The Alumnae Association (especially Molly Scott, mscott@brynmawr.edu) will be helping each step of the way, but having more members on the committee would ensure a Reunion gift that would appropriately honor both our Class and the College. If you can help, please contact Molly or Maxine.

Thanks go to Ann Campbell (acampbell6@gmail.com) for volunteering to maintain our Class web page and help us stay in touch. At this site you can click on photos of past reunions, join Athena’s Web, read and comment on posts and stay in touch.

And, finally, Harriet and Martha have been privileged to serve as your co-presidents since the last two Reunions, but you should be thinking of whom you would like to be your presidents and officers for our next decade.

P.S.

Remember how much fun our 45th reunion was in 2010? You can relive some of the highlights by viewing the photos Stu Solomon took here.
