50th Reunion Essay Book

Dear Classmates,

Our fiftieth Bryn Mawr reunion is fast approaching,  May 29 to 31, 2015. This will be a major chance for us to reconnect in a lively way, with each other and with the College. Amidst the conversations, meals, parties and parades, one of the enduring inspirations of each reunion is our book of personal essays. When we’ve had a chance to learn something of each other’s lives, the joys and sorrows, the challenges and achievements, the relationships and questions, we have been able to move from superficial cocktail party talk to real connections with each other.

We hope many of you will be able to be present in person, to share our stories face to face and to experience the campus as it is today, to meet some of the undergraduate helpers, to sing, to share meals, and to remember the classmates we have lost. But we invite all of you, whether you will be at Reunion in body or spirit, to write your essay for the book of 1965 – Please send us no more than two sides of an 8 ½ X 11 page in 12 point type. The content and structure are up to you, but here are some possible questions to address:

What has been the enduring influence of your Bryn Mawr experience?

What have been the biggest joys and sorrows of your life so far?

What has been the arc of your career; your personal life; your political, spiritual or artistic life?

What would you do differently?

How are you approaching your retirement years?

What is your view of the state of the world these fifty years since graduation?

Please include your contact information and a recent photo – we would like to include a directory section, but we need some technical help with formatting and reproducing pictures.  Who could take on this task?  Please respond to Kerry.

Please submit your essay to Kerry Mueller
